Loss Damage Waiver
Q: What is it?
A: The Loss Damage Waiver
(LDW) is included in rental price at Thai Baht 200 per day.
Indeed it's not insurance, it would help to reduce renters
of financial responsibility if the car is damaged or stolen
while under rental contract. Using the vehicle in violation
of any of the use restrictions listed on the rental agreement
could void LDW and leave the renter fully responsible for
any damage to the vehicle.
Q: What if I decline
LDW?
A: If you decline LDW,
you may be responsible for up to the full cost of the car
if it is damaged, vandalized or stolen during the rental.
Q: Who needs it?
A: Most of our car rental
rates are inclusive of 7% VAT and insurance. Maximum deductible
of Baht 10,000 is applied in any case of damages or losses,
if recovery cannot be made from a third party.
All renters are normally recommended to have LDW (Baht200/day/car)
Age Restrictions/Additional Drivers
Q: How old do you have
to be to rent a car?
A: In Thailand, drivers
21 and over are eligible to rent the car.
Q: Is there an additional
charge if there will be more than one driver?
A: Currently in Thailand
there is no additional charge for more than one driver. We
just require you notify us of the additional driver.
Returning The Car
Q: What refueling options
do I have?
A: There are 3 options
as below:
Option One: Bring the car back full and avoid any refueling
service charge.
Option Two: Pay us only for the gas you use, based on the
renting location's per-liter refueling service charge. Our
representatives can tell you what the renting location's refueling
service charge is when you pick up the car.
Q: If I pick up a car
on Monday at noon and return it Wednesday at 4 p.m., will
I be charged for two day or three?
A: Car rental rates are
based on a 24-hour clock. If drop-off is 1 or 1.5 hour extra,
there are no charged, so in this case, you'd be charged for
one additional day. In addition, the charges for optional
waivers, optional insurance and surcharges are applied on
a 24-hour basis.
Q: If I want to pick
up a car at one location and drop it off at another, does
it cost more?
A:ThaiCarhire.com allows
one-way rentals between our metropolitan locations in Thailand
at no additional charge if the rental is for a minimum of
three days.
Payment and Pricing
Q: Why do rental car
companies ask for a credit card?
A: Rental companies need
to know that their renters are credit-worthy, to minimize
vehicle damage and losses. Credit cards and valid drivers'
licenses usually provide the only information we have about
our renters.
Q: Can I use a credit
card up front and then pay for the rental with cash when I
return the car?
A: Although you present
a major credit card at the time of rental, when you return
the vehicle, you will be asked if you'd like to keep the rental
charges on that credit card or pay cash.
Q: What credit card can
I use?
A: American Express, Visa,
Master Card
Q: Can I use a debit
card?
A: No, this procedure
is not yet available in Thailand.
